Waiting on Solaris Ute…

In Australia we drive great distances on the hot Sun. And Utes are for sure iconic shape for Aussie car. Then sound like match made in heaven to use long, big Ute covers for solar panels. Future commercial vehicles could be powered by solar panels and run on electric and fuel engine (hybrid). Perfectly fuel engine would be bio-diesel. If we add currently popular idea of using electric cars to plug back in grid and load our houses and office with power created when breaking - in this case - plus power when “baking” on the Sun. Maybe this concept sound a bit crazy, but why not. Talking about commercial vehicles, “solar-Ute” would have plug for power tools too. You could use your collected solar energy for work and have convenience of plugging your tools further away for conventional power outlets. Whenever you can park Ute – there is a free energy.
In my previous post I looked into big opportunity for hybrid commercial vehicles. Adding solar panels, make it “plug-back-in-grid” and with outlet for power tools – would be step forward. Keep Ute as icon by transforming it in iconic solution for the future.
